Before you book
Do you need a licence?
Short answer: no.
What you do need
- To be 18 or over. That's our rule, not a local law.
- A clear photo of a government ID card or passport, uploaded when you book.
That's it. Nothing to arrange before you travel, nothing to collect from an office.
Why we ask for ID
Because we don't take a deposit, it's the only recourse we have if a vehicle comes back unusable. That's a high bar and it rarely happens — but it's the reason.
It's checked when you book, not at handover. If there's a problem with the photo you'll find out while you're sitting at a laptop, rather than standing at the ferry dock with a scooter you can't take.
What happens to it
Stored securely and not shared with anyone. It's held only as long as it's needed for your rental and any dispute period that follows. Details are in our privacy notice.
On the day
Bring the same ID you photographed. Whoever hands the scooter over will want to see it matches.

It is checked before any money moves, rather than at handover — so if there is a problem with it you find out while booking, not standing at the dock.
