How it works

Four steps, and none of them happen in a queue

Every other rental on the island is arranged in person after you arrive. This one is sorted before you land.

  1. Choose your dates

Search from the home page. You’ll see the total before you commit — all in, nothing added later.

  2. Book and pay online

Upload a photo of your ID card or passport as part of booking. It’s checked before payment, so any problem surfaces while you’re still at a laptop.

  3. Pick it up, or have it brought to you

Collect it from the owner’s shop, or have it dropped at the ferry dock or your hotel — whichever of those they offer, chosen when you booked. It comes with a full tank.

  4. Ride

Scooters go everywhere on Utila. When you’re done, leave it back where you got it.

Paying in advance — what protects you

Paying up front for something on a small island you haven't reached yet is a fair thing to hesitate over. Three things make it reasonable:

  • You can see who you're renting from before you pay. The vehicles here belong to people on the island, not to the site, and they're named. Nothing is anonymous.
  • The price is published and all-in. Nothing is added at handover.
  • If the vehicle isn't there, you're refunded. Not credited, not rescheduled by default — refunded. That's the site's guarantee, not the owner's, and it's why the money doesn't reach them until your rental has started.
